Frankie, thank you for all of your work. I'm glad you'll be with community tonight.

Also, thanks for sharing the Jax Preyer post. After I co-wrote an academic article on Barstool Fratriarchy, my co-author and I were allowed to team-teach a course on Barstool & gender politics this spring in URI's GWS dept. Preyer's post will be a great piece for that course.

Solidarity & support,

Matt

Oh!! We should chat. I think you know this but I’ve been working on a stool story for like five years now lol

Yes! Definitely! I think last time we talked it was on the shelf maybe? I remember really hoping you were going to be able to find a home for it somewhere.

Still on the shelf but never fully dead. Hey, maybe it’ll run here lol

Here would be great! But, I hope a version of it can get to a broader/larger audience who needs to hear it as well (like all of your work, to be honest)

Thanks for sharing this out in the universe in a true and authentic way that helps us, your readers, know we are not alone. I also appreciate your generosity in highlighting other writers and their work with us.

Lastly…Portnoy. I don’t get the Taylor letter at all.

Happy Election Day - I want to put out positivity and hope - I think we all may need it in the next hours/days.

Thank you for the links - a great way to help us find things to think about besides the weight of the choices we are all making. Please take care of yourself and do whatever you need for you and your family. We will get through this together.

Thank you!! I’m not always good at the hope part—it’s the not wanting to be let down thing. But I know I wouldn’t even be voting if I didn’t have hope left so 🩷

We learn more about who we are, and how much we can carry, at times like this. The fight, our fight, is day to day. Please know you are not alone, even as you are a standard bearer. ❤️
